Luis and I had our first call on the 8th of August in 2021. Luis was feeling stuck in his current job and life in Portugal. He was basically a waterfall of words. He shared his concerns, frustrations, dreams, and emotions. I helped Luis to summarize his story and dream outcome in bullet points and told him we would get him a dream job in no time if we would work together.
According to Luis, nobody has ever had such impact on him after just 1 phone call. This resulted in more sessions in which I created a tailormade plan for Luis and mentored Luis throughout the implementation. I taught Luis how to leverage all his skills and capabilities and the best practice on how to position this.
Luis moved from Portugal to Dubai, UAE – exceeding his desired salary by far – and started his new job the 1st of October 2021, not even 2 months after our first call! In October 2021 I visited Luis in Dubai, and we had dinner together. We still stay in touch today and I am proud to continue mentoring Luis. Luis is Chief Marketing Officer at one of Dubai’s biggest car sales and real estate companies of Dubai. He has won multiple awards over the last years and has even started an MBA.
Luis, I am so proud of you. In no time we completely changed your life and we keep working together! Keep up the great work.

Changing lives from India to the Netherlands
Sudipto got a job at a great company in The Netherlands and moved from India within 10 weeks
Sudipto and I had our first call on the 30th of May in 2021. Sudipto was in India and really wanted to move to Europe, preferably to either the Netherlands or Germany. I could quickly help Sudipto articulate what his capabilities and experience were, and more important – what he really wanted in life.
Once we started the program, nothing could stop Sudipto anymore. We created his CV, his LinkedIn, did mock interviews, found jobs together on LinkedIn and we approached people to get him that interview – through specific approaches and scripts.
India delivers every year more Engineering graduates than the world can handle, so standing out and having a Dutch company take “the bet” to relocate Sudipto from India and get his Visa etc. etc. was a HUGE challenge. But within 10 weeks we managed to get him a job at one of the biggest technical companies in Europe – based in the south of the Netherlands. Coming from India (or any country actually) you cannot just apply through the info@company.com address or through the regular application channels. My unique approach has proven itself successful time after time again and Sudipto his story is a great example of this.
Sudipto, to get hired in the Netherlands and being relocated from India directly was a huge accomplishment and you and I can bot be proud of this. Hard work pays off. Enjoy your time in the Netherlands and welcome to Europe. Once you are in, you are in! Together we changed your life! Cheers to many years in Europe!

SWITZERLAND! Low (almost no) taxes, very high salaries, safe, clean, and BEAUTIFUL. Who does not want to work here? I know all the people from the neighboring countries (Italy, Austria, Germany, France) certainly do – and beyond! Switzerland is a very competitive market and it requires dedication, proven strategies, and a disciplined system to land a job here! Luckily, for many mentees we have made this a reality. Mentees from European countries, the USA, India, and China. Below 3 practical tips to already help YOU boost your Swiss job hunt.
Hey job seekers! If you’re aiming for success in Switzerland, it’s not just about your skills; fitting into the Swiss work culture is key! Be punctual, show precision, and give your best at work. Speaking German, French, or Italian is a big plus and signals your commitment to the local vibe. However, you can show commitment by starting a language course – you do not need to speak any of these languages! In most companies English is the language. In mine, I work with 72 nationalities. However, you should highlight your education and willingness to learn to catch employers’ eyes. Get social and attend (virtual) industry events to build valuable connections!

Switzerland, a picturesque country nestled in the heart of Europe, is renowned for its stunning landscapes, precision engineering, and world-class chocolates. However, what makes it truly stand out from its surrounding European markets are its high salaries and its low tax regime, which provide a multitude of advantages for both residents and expatriates.
In this blog, we’ll explore five compelling reasons why working in a low-tax country like Switzerland, especially given the much lower salaries and skyrocketing taxes in neighboring countries, makes financial sense and leads to a thriving lifestyle.
While it’s true that Switzerland is often perceived as an expensive place to live, one must consider the bigger picture – savings potential. The lower taxes in Switzerland, particularly the income tax rates, allow individuals to retain a larger portion of their earnings compared to neighboring European countries where taxes are skyrocketing.
By carefully managing your expenses, exploring neighboring countries for certain services (like haircuts), and making informed purchasing decisions, you can maximize your savings even further. Did you know that someone at the cash register in supermarket Lidl, starts with 4300 CHF bruto (before tax) per month?! The average Salary according the Swiss federal statistics office is 80k per year. AVERAGE! Meaning a lot of people make 100k, 150k, and more!

Switzerland expensive? Maybe if you go for dinner each evening. However, one of the most significant financial advantages of living in Switzerland is its low consumer tax rates. The Value Added Tax (VAT) in Switzerland is currently set at a standard rate of 2.5% for essential goods (food, books, pharmaceutical products) and 7.7% on e.g., alcohol or for services.
In contrast, countries like the Netherlands impose a 21% VAT on most goods and services. This results in electronic and other products being cheaper in Switzerland than in its neighboring markets. This favorable tax environment not only allows for cost savings on everyday purchases but also provides a boost to disposable income.

The attractiveness of Switzerland as a base for wealthy individuals cannot be understated. The country boasts a relatively low wealth tax, which makes it an attractive destination for high-net-worth individuals seeking to protect and grow their wealth. The wealth tax is levied on the net worth of individuals, taking into account their assets and liabilities. With Switzerland’s advantageous wealth tax structure, wealthy individuals can build and maintain their fortunes with greater ease compared to higher-tax jurisdictions.
Beyond its financial advantages, Switzerland offers an outstanding quality of life that is hard to match. The country is known for its safety, cleanliness, and efficient public services. Swiss cities consistently rank high in global livability indexes, making it an ideal place to raise a family and enjoy a peaceful and secure environment. Moreover, the well-funded healthcare system ensures access to top-notch medical services, contributing to the overall well-being and satisfaction of residents.
Switzerland’s strong financials (the little taxes you do pay) result into sufficient of resources available for public services and infrastructure. The surplus of funds is evident in the country’s spectacular fireworks displays and the well-maintained traditional steamboats gracing its picturesque lakes. This financial prosperity trickles down to various sectors, including healthcare, education, transportation, and cultural events, enriching the lives of its inhabitants.

Working in a low-tax country like Switzerland is THE choice for those seeking financial stability, prosperity, and an exceptional quality of life. With salaries that are much higher than in surrounding European markets on top of the advantages of much lower taxes, cost-saving opportunities, and wealth tax benefits it makes it the best country to build your base. Furthermore, the safety, cleanliness, and abundance of public services make Switzerland an appealing destination for individuals looking to thrive personally and financially. So, whether you are a high-net-worth individual seeking a favorable tax environment or someone looking for a secure and rewarding work-life experience, Switzerland remains an unparalleled choice.
Working in Guangzhou, China, the third biggest city in China and just two hours away from the bustling metropolis of Hong Kong, was an eye-opening experience that left a lasting impression on me. From my time spent there, I can confidently say that I have grown both personally and professionally, and I’m now ready to take on any challenge in any country.
One of the first things I noticed and admired during my time in China was the remarkable work ethic of the people. Everywhere I looked, individuals were dedicatedly working towards building their country’s future. From orderly queues for the metro to construction sites operating round-the-clock, it was evident that hard work and discipline are ingrained in the Chinese culture. Their commitment to progress was awe-inspiring, and it taught me valuable lessons about dedication and determination.

A life devoted to hard work and discipline
Despite the language barrier, I navigated my way through the city by relying on simple gestures and pictures on my phone. It was a funny experience to communicate with taxi drivers by showing them a picture of an airplane when I needed to get to the airport. Or to get deals done with factory owners while all you could do was smile and drink shots! Ganbei! Even without speaking English, the local people were incredibly friendly and patient, making me feel at ease in their country.
Balancing a demanding work schedule and exploring China’s diverse landscapes and vibrant culture was an enriching experience. I flew across the country to visit factories, attended numerous networking events, and constantly met fellow expats. It taught me the importance of work-life balance, proving that even with a dedicated work ethic, one should make time to enjoy life and form meaningful connections.
My journey throughout China allowed me to immerse myself in its beautiful culture. From the towering skyscrapers on one street to live chicken and bustling traditional markets on the next, China seamlessly blended its rich heritage with modernity, creating a unique and vibrant tapestry of life. These experiences taught me the value of embracing diversity and respecting traditions, even in the face of rapid development.

Lastly, I was amazed by China’s unparalleled growth and development. Witnessing the contrast between sprawling urban cities and serene rice fields in mere minutes of travel was a testament to the country’s progress. The lessons I learned about resilience, adaptability, and the pursuit of excellence will undoubtedly stay with me as I embark on new ventures in my career and life.
In conclusion, my time in China was a transformative journey that gifted me invaluable insights into the country’s work ethic, culture, and growth. It was a place where hard work and dedication were evident in every aspect of life, and yet, people still found time to enjoy life and connect with others. China’s rich cultural heritage and rapid development left an indelible mark on my heart, and I’m grateful for the experiences that have shaped me into a more confident and open-minded individual, ready to take on new challenges in any corner of the world. China, what a great country to work and live as an expat!
